‘Community Safety Day’ to feature live demos, interactive games, hands-on fun

Downtown OWA is set to host its largest event for the Gulf Coast community. Admission-free and open daily, Downtown OWA is the dining, entertainment and shopping district of the 520-acre destination.

Head to its timeless streets on Saturday, August 25th for an experience like no other, as Community Safety Day is taking community involvement to a new level. With more than 13 local and state public safety departments on-site, each will have its own special experiences for guests to take part in, all admission free.

The free event will be held throughout Downtown OWA from 4-8pm. Baldwin County EMA’s tornado machine, Lower Alabama Search and Rescue’s rappelling demonstrations, Foley Fire Department’s Smokehouse, Foley Police Department’s K-9 unit, and everyone’s favorite fire-preventing bear with the Forestry Commission are just a few of the fun demonstrations taking place.

In addition to multiple live demonstrations and hands-on experiences, participating first responders will be racing the streets on Downtown OWA in fun-filled Jumbo Tricycle Races starting at 5pm. Specific times for live demonstrations, activities and Park discounts can be found atVisitOWA.com/Community-Safety.

Community Safety Day will take place throughout the admission-free streets of Downtown OWA. Enjoy its restaurants, island and lake, as well as shops and games free of charge. For more information about The Park, Downtown or any of OWA’s amenities, please go to VisitOWA.com.
