FOLEY – New lighting will soon brighten recreation areas at Aaronville Park, expanding opportunities for residents to enjoy the facilities after dark.
The Foley City Council has approved plans to install lighting systems for the park’s baseball field and basketball courts in southwest Foley. The lighting will be provided through Musco Sports Lighting.
Jeff Lee, director of Foley’s Parks and Recreation Department, said the project will enhance the park’s accessibility and usability.
“This is to add LED Musco lighting on one ball field and two basketball courts that don’t currently have any lighting,” Lee said.
The lighting installation is part of an ongoing series of upgrades at Aaronville Park. Earlier this year, the City Council voted to replace the pavilion and restroom building with new facilities that will improve compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The city also approved the replacement of fencing around the baseball field.
The improvements build on a plan first approved by the council in 2023 to modernize and enhance amenities at Aaronville Park.
