Foley offices to remain closed Thursday
FOLEY -- Foley city offices will remain closed Thursday due to poor road conditions. The Foley City Council meeting that had been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23, has been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 27. The meeting and work session will begin at 4 p.m. at Foley City Hall. Residents urged to continue to take precautions
FOLEY – While the snowfall has stopped, Foley officials are urging residents and visitors to continue to take precautions and stay off the streets Wednesday during severe winter weather conditions. Mayor Ralph Hellmich said the city did well during the cold weather and snowfall. “Foley is in great shape,” Hellmich said Wednesday. “People heeded the warnings and stayed off the roads generally. Foley offices to close Wednesday
FOLEY – Foley non-emergency offices will remain closed Wednesday, Jan. 23, due to severe winter weather. Due to extreme amounts of snow and severe winter weather, Foley officials determined Tuesday that city offices would remain closed Wednesday. Foley authorities also reported that police and fire vehicles answering calls Tuesday were experiencing very difficult driving conditions on local roads. Foley offices to close Tuesday due to severe weather
FOLEY – Foley non-emergency offices will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to severe winter weather. The Foley Railroad Museum and Holmes Medical Museum will also be closed Tuesday. City officials will study weather forecasts and determine Tuesday if offices will reopen Wednesday. Snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, is forecast for Tuesday. City garbage and recyclable materials collection will resume Thursday when the Baldwin County landfill reopens. Material scheduled for collection Tuesday and Thursday will be picked up Thursday Jan. 23. Wednesday and Friday collections will take place Friday, Jan. 24.

Cold weather shelter opening in Foley
FOLEY – Anyone needing shelter from anticipated winter weather conditions can go to a shelter in Foley that will open at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. The shelter will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 506 N. Pine St. in Foley. The facility is scheduled to be open until noon Wednesday, Jan. 22. The church is working with the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency to provide a Safer Place shelter for residents and visitors in need of warmth and safety. Moore opens Foley congressional office
FOLEY – South Baldwin County residents now have a location in Foley where they can contact their local Congressional representative. Alabama’s U.S. Rep. Barry Moore has opened an office in Foley City Hall. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office’s telephone number is 251-437-6310. Lights illuminate historic downtown Foley buildings
FOLEY – Downtown Foley lit up Thursday night with strings of LED lights outlining the city’s historic buildings. During Foley Main Street’s monthly Third Thursday event, lights placed on downtown building facades were turned on at 6 p.m. Third Thursday participants watched along West Laurel Avenue as the lights came on in the early evening. FOLEY – Foley has again received national recognition for its budget. The Foley Finance Department has submitted its 2025 budget for consideration for the Distinguished Budget Award to the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The GFOA has awarded the Distinguished Budget Award to the Foley Finance Department five consecutive times.
