Update on OWA operations

Dear Valued Guests, Based on daily changes in the status of the Coronavirus pandemic and protocols set forth by the Alabama Department of Public Health and Governor Kay Ivey’s Office, OWA’s amusement park will continue to temporarily suspend operations until Friday, April 17, 2020 or unless otherwise instructed by health officials. We are evaluating our reopening timeline on a daily basis and will work to provide periodic updates to the public. Nonessential businesses to close statewide

3/27/2020—Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has announced all nonessential businesses statewide are to be closed starting Saturday at 5 p.m. The closure is scheduled for March 28 through April 17. For the full statement and list of businesses, click here.

Kay Ivey orders schools to be closed through the end of the school year

3/26/2020—Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has ordered the schools in the state to remain closed through the end of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will continue to learn at home using "alternate methods of instruction" starting on April 6. State Superintendent of Education Dr. Eric Mackey said the state is working with local school systems to address the lack of internet access in some homes.

Foley closes majority of city buildings due to COVID-19

Today Foley Mayor John Koniar announced the closing of all city buildings to the public, except for the lobbies of the Judicial Center and city hall, due to COVID-19 concerns. City employees will continue to work with customers and citizens through glass windows, maintaining social distancing practices. Visitors to both buildings are asked to practice social distancing, maintaining at least six feet between each other to prevent the spread of the virus. Foley declares local state of emergency regarding COVID-19 Foley’s city council members voted to enact a citywide state of emergency in response to COVID-19 at their March 16 meeting. Foley following precautionary measures against Coronavirus The City of Foley continues to monitor the COVID-19 virus, and follow guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and the Alabama Department of Public Health.
