Intersection improvements to start at Hickory, Michigan

FOLEY – New temporary signal lights are a first step to improve the busy intersection at South Hickory Street and West Michigan Avenue. The Foley City Council voted Monday, Feb. 17, to amend an agreement to design the signals. The lights are part of a project by the city and Baldwin County to add turn lanes at the intersection. Foley named Alabama’s 2025 Arbor Day City

FOLEY – Foley is Alabama’s 2025 Arbor Day City following a declaration by Gov. Kay Ivey. The governor commended the city for its leadership in urban forestry, particularly, noting that Foley has verified its Urban Forestry program with the Alabama Urban Forestry Association. Three-Time Paralympian Returns To Foley

The Archery Shooters Association’s (ASA) Hoyt/Easton Pro/Am is returning to Foley February 20 – 23 and three-time Paralympian KJ Polish will be back to compete in what he said is one of his favorite competitions of the year. Election preparations on Foley council agenda

FOLEY – Foley officials are moving ahead with preparations for the 2025 city elections. The Foley City Council is scheduled to vote Monday, Feb. 17, to set salaries for the mayor and council members for the upcoming term. The City Council meeting and work session begins at 4 p.m. at Foley City Hall. Under the Alabama election calendar, cities and towns have until Feb. 26 to set salaries for the upcoming term. Moore Foley congressional office opens

FOLEY – Alabama’s First Congressional District Rep. Barry Moore opened his Foley office Friday with a ceremony at City Hall. The office is located on the east side of City Hall and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office’s telephone number is 251-437-6310. Foley Arbor Day celebration set Feb. 22

FOLEY – Foley residents can receive a free tree and horticulture advice during the city’s annual celebration of Arbor Day on Saturday, Feb. 22. The 44th annual Foley Arbor Day will begin at 1 p.m. at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market at 781 Farmers Market Way. Foley to renovate armory building

LEY – The facility that housed the Foley National Guard detachment for more than 50 years is on its way to becoming city recreation and office space. The Foley City Council approved a contract to renovate the building. The winning bid was $1.88 million. The armory is at 315 E. Jessamine Ave., behind City Hall.
