Foley City Council Meeting Agenda June 20, 2022

The Foley City Council will meet at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 20, in a joint regular/work session at city hall. The council will discuss: A proclamation honoring Lugenia Hall. A progress report on the Coastal Alabama Miracle League being planned for Summerdale and consider a $20,000 donation to the effort. The council recently discussed making a donation to the project and in October, Orange Beach pledged $20,000 and would match other cities’ donations up to $100,000. 2021 Foley Police Department Annual Report

The city is grateful to the men and women of the Foley Police Department for the professionalism and service they provide to the residents and visitors of this beautiful area. Thanks to hard work throughout the department, Foley's crime rate remains low in spite of significant growth to our area. (Foley, Alabama)    Foley Comes Together For Mills Pride Day Cleanup Over the Memorial Day weekend volunteers from the City of Foley, Baldwin County, and the Mills neighborhood banded together for Mills Pride Day. Foley Orders Development Moratorium

FOLEY — New development permits will be postponed for about two months while Foley officials prepare new regulations. The Foley City Council is scheduled to vote Monday, June 6 on final approval for an ordinance to update land development. On Monday, May 16, the council voted to enact an immediate moratorium on land disturbances until the new ordinance goes into effect. Historian and local author, Mike Bunn, will be returning to the Foley Public Library on Thursday, June 16 at 2 pm to give a presentation on the “Sam Dale, Alabama’s Davy Crockett/Daniel Boone.” Dale is an Alabama frontiersman who was a key figure in the Creek Wars.  He guided settlers down the Federal Road and helped open frontier settlements in southwest Alabama. Foley votes for land-development temporary moratorium

While the city of Foley considers and works on a new land-use development ordinance, the council on May 16 voted unanimously for a moratorium on land development permits.
