Governor Ivey Extends Safer at Home Order

Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday issued her twentieth supplemental emergency proclamation extending the Safer at Home Order that includes a statewide mask requirement. Individuals will be required to wear a mask or other facial covering when in public and in close contact with other people, as described in the order. Foley’s Final Debris Pass for Hurricane Sally expected to be completed before Christmas

The City of Foley Public Works Department and contractors continue to work diligently cleaning up debris from Hurricane Sally. Since operations began on September 16, crews have collected over 899,000 cubic yards of debris inside the Foley city limits. The final pass for the City of Foley's Hurricane Sally debris collection began November 30 and will continue until all streets have been verified as cleared of limbs and bulk debris. Foley Library creates Holiday Look & Find contest thru Dec. 31

To add a bit of joy to the holiday season, the Foley Public Library has created a Holiday Look & Find where patrons, young & old, can search for certain items in the library, complete a sheet with their location, and receive candy or a snack as a prize. This festive event will start on Mon, Dec 7, 2020 and run through Thurs, Dec 31 at 5 p.m. when the library closes early for New Year’s Eve. Foley cancels Christmas parade

Desiring to be safe rather than sorry, Foley officials have cancelled the annual Christmas parade, normally held in Foley on the first Saturday in December. Downtown merchants are open that Saturday and all shopping days before Christmas. Heritage Park provides a perfect place to walk and enjoy beautiful decorations. Deadline set for debris removal

The City of Foley’s debris removal contractor D&J Enterprises is entering the final phases of the Hurricane Sally cleanup for those who live within the incorporated city limits.  In an effort to facilitate this process, the City is setting an end date of Sunday Nov. 29, 2020 for items to be placed on the right of way for pickup.  While it is clear that there are still piles awaiting pickup, the quantity and size of those remaining debris piles are steadily dwindling with an end in sight.
