Micah Cain will be judging the 51st Annual Art in the Park show this year. Micah received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Shorter College in Rome, GA. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree he was accepted into the Master of Fine Arts program at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Foley studies use for old armory building
FOLEY – A building that housed the Foley contingent of the Alabama National Guard will have a new use as a municipal facility under plans being considered by city officials. The city of Foley acquired the armory building on East Jessamine Avenue after the National Guard moved to a new facility on Industrial Parkway east of the Foley Beach Express. Work starting on South Pecan extension
FOLEY – Crews began work on the latest Foley street project to improve traffic flow through the city. The project extends South Pecan Street from Lay Lane south to East Pride Drive. Ecumenical Ministries to hold Community Resources, Employment Fair
FOLEY – The Ecumenical Ministries will hold a Community Resource and Employment Fair on, Wednesday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Foley United Methodist Church. More than 50 resources will be available on site during the event. Information and assistance will be available on housing and utilities, senior resources, food assistance programs, educational resources, medical information and health screening, employment agencies, employment legal services, mental health resources and transportation information. Foley adding garbage trucks as service demand grows
FOLEY – An additional garbage truck is an example of how Foley is expanding services to meet the demands of growth. The Foley City Council has approved letters of intent to buy two new garbage trucks. The city will buy the trucks when the vehicles are ready to be delivered. FOLEY – A Foley High School program that improves student academics, attendance and behavior has received regional recognition and is being considered for additional honors.. Foley High has been named a School of Distinction by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools. The award recognizes school programs that serve as an outstanding educational model for other schools in Alabama. Foley moving ahead with park improvements
FOLEY – New restroom facilities at the Beulah Heights Park are the latest project to improve park facilities around Foley. The Foley City Council voted Monday, April 3, to approve construction of a new bathroom facility at Beulah Heights Park on East Jefferson Street. The report presented to the council said the current restrooms are old, outdated, in poor condition and needing to be replaced. Foley joins statewide assistance program
FOLEY – A statewide assistance program should bring aid to local communities sooner after hurricanes or other disasters. The Foley City Council voted Monday, April 3, to allow the Foley Fire Department to join the Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Consortium Agreement. FOLEY – The Beulah Heights Park will get new restroom facilities at a cost of $175,000 under a proposal to be considered by the Foley City Council. The resolution is one of the items on the agenda for the Foley City Council when it meets Monday, April 3. The meeting and work session will start at 4 p.m. at Foley City Hall.
