FOLEY – When Foley voters head to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 26, many will be casting ballots in new City Council districts.

The election will take place at the Foley Civic Center. All Foley voters will cast ballots at that location.

To prepare for the 2025 municipal elections, the Foley City Council approved updated district boundaries to reflect population growth since the last election in 2020. At that time, the city’s population was 20,335. Today, it is estimated at about 29,000.

Foley’s five City Council members are elected by district, with each district designed to have a similar number of residents. The new boundaries balance district populations, with an average of 5,844 residents each.

Residents can confirm their voting district for the 2025 election by visiting cityoffoley.org/voting and using the interactive lookup tool. By entering a home address, voters can see which district they live in.

In Foley’s single-member district system, residents vote only for the City Council candidate running in their district. In the Aug. 26 election, four of the five council seats are contested.

All registered voters in Foley also vote for mayor. In 2025, Mayor Ralph Hellmich is unopposed, as no other candidates qualified for the race.
