FOLEY – Christmas is coming to Foley with a wide variety of events starting Thursday, Dec. 5.

Several events, including Christmas in the Park, the Foley Christmas Parade and Let It Snow, will take place in the upcoming weekend as the city kicks off the holiday season. 

Celebrations begin with the Christmas Night Market at the Foley Farmers and Fishermens Market on Thursday, Dec. 5. The event, which includes artisan vendors crafting gifts, holiday baked goods and food trucks, is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

On Friday, Dec. 6, Christmas in the Park begins at 6 p.m. at Foley’s Heritage Park. The celebration will include refreshments, a visit from Santa and the lighting of the city’s Christmas Tree. The winners of the Christmas Tree decorating contest will also be announced during the event.

The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra Holiday Concert will also take place Friday. The concert includes holiday favorites performed by an orchestra of young musicians. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center. Admission is free.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Foley Christmas Parade will roll through the streets of downtown Foley beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will include music, floats, other participants and Santa Claus.

Also on Saturday, Foley’s annual Let It Snow event takes place in Heritage Park. The marketplace will begin at 9 a.m. Let It Snow activities, including a snowy wonderland, music and food, begin at 11 a.m.

Another celebration on Saturday is the Downtown Foley Christmas Fest. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can enjoy Christmas Fest specials at downtown Foley businesses. 

The Foley High School Choir will perform Christmas favorites at 200 W. Laurel Ave., in the Truist Bank Building. In addition to the choir performance, there will be free ornaments to color and downtown Foley-themed tattoos for attendees. 

Downtown Foley Christmas Fest is a Foley Main Street event.

The Graham Creek Christmas Trail also opens on Saturday, Dec. 7. Visitors can walk the trail each evening, taking in displays illuminated by thousands of Christmas lights. Santa Claus will also be on hand to meet with young people. Admission is $5 for visitors older than 2. 

The trail will be open Dec. 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

The Foley Performing Arts Association’s Trim A Tree event continues through Dec. 23 at the Foley Art Center at 211 N.McKenzie St. in downtown Foley. Trim-A-Tree includes unique Christmas ornaments, decorations and gifts created by local artists and members of the Foley Art Center.
