FOLEY – St. Paul Episcopal Church will open at 2 p.m. as a Safer Place during the upcoming expected severe weather.
The church is located at 506 N. Pine St. in Foley.
Anyone coming to the site is asked to bring everything they will need as the location is just a safe location during the storm. Citizens will need to bring all toiletries, bedding, food, water and medicine.
On Wednesday morning, Foley and the surrounding area was under a tornado watch until 5 p.m. and a flood watch from 1 p.m. until Thursday morning as thunderstorms with very heavy rain were expected to pass through the area.
Winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of up to 50 miles per hour have been forecast for the area.
