FOLEY – The Foley City Council will meet Monday, April 21, at Foley City Hall.

The council work session and meeting will begin at 4 p.m.

Items on the agenda include:

  • A Sister City student presentation to delegates for outstanding leadership.
  • Recognizing the 56th annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week.
  • Commemorating Drinking Water Week.
  • Commemorating Public Service Recognition Week.
  • Hearing the report on approved and paid bills.
  • Receiving reports on taxes and permit revenue, Community Development, Marketing, the Fire Department and the Police Department.
  • Adoption of the 2024 International Building Codes (ICC) and Coastal Supplement Provisions to upgrade the codes relating to the inspection activities of the City of Foley and enforcement of the building provisions and fire safety of the codes.
  • Amending the southwest quadrant traffic calming implementation and speed limit standardization.
  • Reducing the speed limit on James Road.
  • Establishing the use of electronic vote counting devices.
  • Approving a special retail ABC license of more than 30 days for Select Site Ventures operating under the trade name of Cobblestone Hotel and Suites at 2970 Koniar Way.
  • Waiving the fees for the use of Max Griffin Park/Foley Kids Park for the Kiwanis Club of Foley International Kids Day Service Project event.
  • Amending the Michigan Avenue Regional Stormwater Improvement Project contract.
  • Appointing election officers for the 2025 city election.
  • Approving monthly bids.
  • Approving the road building project for Wilson-Equestrian Park Road and accepting the professional services agreement from Allen Engineering and Science.
  • Approving emergency repairs to a fire pumper.
  • Purchasing a fire skid for the Nature Parks Department.
  • Appropriating funds for the Highway 59 Sidewalk Project from Roosevelt to East Azalea Avenue.
  • Approving the use of Max Griffin Park on Monday, May 26, for the American Legion Post 99 Memorial Day ceremony.
  • Accepting the CEO Structural Engineers proposal for the NFPA 1402/03 Fire Department’s Training Center burn building inspection and appropriate funding.
  • Appropriating funding for and approving a capital project to consolidate the city’s door access control systems.
  • Going out to bid for the Fire Department’s Station 1 concrete pad replacement and appropriating funds for the project.
  • Approving the contract for the Wolf Creek Restoration Project.
  • Declaring Fire Department self-contained breathing apparatus equipment surplus and donating the equipment to another municipal agency.
  • Accepting the mid-year adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2025 budget and 2025 capital planning document.
  • Applying for the US Department of Transportation FY2025 Safe Streets and Roads for All funding and accepting Kimley Horn’s professional services proposal.
  • Approving a capital purchase for the Police Department.
  • Purchasing a Kubota tractor for Foley Sports Tourism.
  • Declaring a four-seat golf cart surplus, disposing of the vehicle and purchasing a replacement four-seat golf cart for Foley Sports Tourism.
  • Setting a public hearing to consider passage of an ordinance amending the codes for the adoption of the 2024 International Building Codes.
  • Amending Resolution 25-1117 for emergency repairs to West Peachtree Avenue.
