FOLEY – The Foley City Council will meet Monday, June 16, at Foley City Hall.

The meeting and work session will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Council chambers.

Among the items on the agenda to be considered by the City Council are:

  • A hearing to consider adopting the 2024 Building Codes.
  • A hearing to declare weeds a public nuisance on Hickory Street.
  • A plaque presentation.
  • A report on paid bills for the record. 
  • Reports on tax revenue, permit plans, Community Development and Police and Fire Department activity during the month of June.
  • The first reading of an ordinance approving the southwest quadrant traffic calming and speed limit standardization.
  • An ordinance adopting the 2024 International Building Codes (ICC) and reference Coastal Supplement Provisions to upgrade codes relating to the inspection activities of the city of Foley and enforcement of the building provisions and fire safety as provided by the codes.
  • Approving an ABC restaurant retail liquor license for Mi Pueblito Taqueria on South McKenzie Street.
  • Amending the pay classification plan in the Community Development Department.
  • Appointing an elections manager and absentee elections manager.
  • Purchasing life-saving and protective equipment using opioid funding.
  • Approving a change order for the CDD generator project and transferring funds to cover the cost.
  • Approving monthly bids for May.
  • Accepting and using a Friends of the Library donation to purchase an Artome projector.
  • Applying for the Community Foundation of South Alabama grant for the 2025 fiscal year.
  • Amending a resolution to declare Street Department items surplus, dispose of the items and purchase replacements.
  • Transferring funds between categories in Vector Control.
  • Setting a hearing to declare weeds a public nuisance on Bay View Drive and ordering its abatement.
  • Utilizing impact fee funding for the paving of the Pilgrim Street extension and to Amend Resolution 25-1045 approving funding for the Pilgrim Street extension.
  • Appointing Jessica Gosa to the Library Board.
  • Approving a Right-of-Way Use Agreement.
  • Approving additional improvements at Melvin Roberts Park.
  • Appropriating and memorializing funds for the purchase and installation of a MacroAir Fan System for Fire Stations 1 and 2.
  • Approving the use of Heritage Park for the 2025 Society of Black Hats Foley Witches Ride Charity Event and after party.
  • Declaring a John Deere Gator as surplus in the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Replacing microwave equipment for the Public Safety communication system.
  • Closing streets on downtown Foley for Hometown Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025.
  • Reappointing Steve Bailey to the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.
  • Approving the City Hall conference room renovation project.
  • Increasing the budget and approving a capital project to make repairs to a generator at the Justice Center.
  • Approving the use of Heritage Park for the First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores Community Block Party event.
  • Appropriating funds and approving a capital project to upgrade technology for the City Hall conference room.
