FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, Oct. 6.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.
Among the items on the agenda are:
- A public hearing to declare weeds to be a public nuisance and order its abatement on South Cedar Street.
- Administering the oath of office to Councilman Roderick Burkle.
- Recognizing October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
- Accepting public rights of way and infrastructure improvements in Ledgewick Subdivision Phase 1, 2b and 3 for city maintenance.
- Setting a maximum axle limit for Park Avenue between South Hickory Street and South Pine Street.
- Declaring certain real property as surplus and no longer needed for municipal purposes and authorizing its sale.
- Amending the Foley Zoning Code to regulate mining and quarrying operations.

- Appointing Roderick Burkle as successor for the City Council District 3 position to serve the remainder of the unexpired term.
- Waiving fees for the use of the old Foley Sports Complex for the Foley Lions Club LeTour de Foley 2025 bicycle ride.
- Authorizing the purchase and acceptance of certain real property.
- Approving the purchase of a New Way Sidewinder ASL garbage truck.
- Purchasing a knuckle-boom loader for the Sanitation Department.
- Approving an ABC special events retail license for Beach Life Events operating under the trade name Tacos and Tequila Festival at 200 N. McKenzie St.
- Purchasing a 2026 Kenworth Heavy Haul Lowboy for the Street Department.
- Approving the Ammons and Blackmon’s Change Order No. 3.
- Approving the Aaronville Park lighting improvement capital project.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance setting a maximum axle limit for Park Avenue between South Hickory Street and South Pine Street.
- Accepting the Legislative Event Grant for the 2026 fiscal year.
- Authorizing the repurchase of certain real property between Baldwin Cold Logistics and the city of Foley.
- Accepting the Alabama Department of Transportation’s grant offer and bid submitted by Ameriseal of Ohio Inc. for the north and south apron pavement maintenance project at the Foley Municipal Airport.
- Requesting permission to solicit bids for the construction of Miflin Road Access Management Plan Phase 1.
- Approving the surplus and donation of police uniform gear to another police agency.
- Amending the Facade Improvement Grant Program application.
- Going to bid for the Chicago Street improvements from U.S. 98 to Orange Avenue.
- Setting a public hearing to consider zoning ordinance amendments.
- Setting a public hearing to consider amending the Foley Zoning Code to regulate mining and quarrying operations.
- Applying for the FY2026 Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program II (ATRIP II) for Miflin Road/Alabama 161 improvements projects.
- Approving the additional services amendment proposal from Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood LLC for the Mills Park Property Improvements Project.
- Approving Change Order No. 1 and the transfer of funds to the City Hall conference room renovation project.
- Memorializing and waiving fees of Heritage Park for Nicole Rye with American Legacy Co.
- Reappointing Barbara Ingram to the Industrial Development Board.
- Purchasing a 2025 Ford Explorer for the Engineering Department.
- Amending the Personnel System Policy with regard to department head and director positions.
- Waiving the Horse Arena fees for the Shorty’s Safe Haven Rodeo.
- Going to bid for the construction of the First Responder Hurricane Safe Room.
- Authorizing employees to enter property on South Cedar Street for the purpose of abating a public nuisance.
