FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular meeting Monday, May 19, at Foley City Hall.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Items on the agenda include:

  • Proclaim May Older Americans Month.
  • Hear department reports on taxes, permits, Community Development and Police and Fire Department activities.
  • Approve and pay bills.
  • Accept rights of way and infrastructure improvements to Lakeview Gardens Phase 2 for city maintenance.
  • Approve JADE Consulting’s professional service agreement for Chicago Street improvements from U.S. 98 to Orange Avenue.
  • Approve OWA’s July 4 fireworks display.
  • Purchase decorative bollards for the downtown areas.
  • Go to bid for the Downtown Lighting Project to illuminate West Jessamine Avenue from Highway 59 to North Alston Street.
  • Approve a capital project using restricted court cash from the MCJAF Fund.
  • Approve additional funding for the East Jessamine Avenue extension project.
  • Purchase an event pavilion for the Nature Parks Department, going to bid on the installation and site work and allocating funds for the project.
  • Enter into a five-year agreement with Volkert Inc for professional services related to the Foley Municipal Airport.
  • Approve monthly bids for April 2025.
  • Waive the fees at Heritage Park for the Julio Jones Squad to host a Juneteenth Community Event.
  • Accept an unbudgeted donation from the Rikard Family CharitableTrust and approving the budget increase for the Small Tools Account for the Foley Fire Department.
  • Request replacements for the exterior sheet metal and gutters for Fire Station No. 1.
