FOLEY – The City of Foley has again received national recognition for financial reporting marking more than a decade of consecutive award winning.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Foley. The GFOA award recognizes Foley’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2023.
An impartial panel of judges determined that the report met the high standards of the program. The standards include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
This is the 11th consecutive year that Foley has received the award. The certificate is one of three awards that Foley has received in the past as part of the GFOA’s “Triple Crown” in reporting.
In recent years, the GFOA has also presented Foley with the Distinguished Budget Award and the Popular Annual Financial Report Awards.
