FOLEY – Big rigs and heavy equipment are rolling into the Foley Public Library for a day of hands-on fun.
The library will host the second annual Big Rigs @ the Library: A Hands-On Truck Experience on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will take place behind the library at 319 E. Laurel Ave.
This free, family-friendly event gives children of all ages the chance to explore the big equipment that helps keep Foley running. In partnership with the Foley Street Department, the showcase will include tractors, backhoes, trackhoes, bucket trucks and more, with live demonstrations throughout the morning.
Visitors can also check out vehicles and equipment from the Foley Police Department, Foley Fire Department, and other city services. A new highlight this year will be the opportunity to see a helicopter up close.
Beyond the trucks and equipment, families can enjoy yard games, a giant sand pile, live music from a one-man band, and treats from a local coffee truck and Kona Ice.
