FOLEY – Children gathered around milkweed plants taller than many of them, leaning in to spot tiny striped caterpillars just beginning their journey to become Monarch butterflies. The Foley Public Library and Riviera Utilities hosted Butterfly Story Time on Wednesday, July 16, at the Riviera Pollinator Garden near Foley City Hall. Foley adding walking trail along Wolf Creek
FOLEY – Plans for a new walking trail in Foley are moving ahead, offering residents and visitors another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while connecting key areas of the city. The Foley City Council has approved the design phase for the Schreiber Trail, which will run through the Wolf Creek headwaters restoration area. The trail will connect the Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail near Alabama 59 to North Pecan Street, covering about 2,000 feet. Street Lighting Improvements Enhance Safety at County 65 and Airport Road Intersection
FOLEY -- The City of Foley is moving quickly to improve safety and visibility at the intersection of Baldwin County 65 and Airport Road, as well as at other key locations around the city. Foley’s Historic N3N Biplane to Fly in Veterans Flight During Blue Angels Air Show
FOLEY – Foley’s historic N3N biplane will join the skies over Pensacola this month as part of the annual Veterans Flight during the Blue Angels Air Show on July 11 and 12. The Veterans Flight, held at the Pensacola Aviation Center at Pensacola International Airport, honors veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. FOLEY – The City of Foley is expanding traffic calming measures by standardizing speed limits in another area of the city to improve safety and consistency for drivers. The Foley City Council has given preliminary approval to a plan to standardize speed limits in the city’s southeast quadrant, with a final vote scheduled for an upcoming meeting. Foley offices to close for July 4 holiday
FOLEY – Non-emergency Foley city offices will be closed Friday, July 4, in commemoration of the Independence Day holiday. Garbage and recyclable materials usually collected Thursdays and Fridays will be collected on Thursday, July 3. The collection of limbs and yard debris will resume after the holiday. More improvements planned for Mel Roberts Park
FOLEY – Additional upgrades are coming to Mel Roberts Park, thanks to savings from a recently completed improvement project. The Foley City Council has approved a second phase of improvements at the Cedar Street park, using about money remaining from the initial project budget.
