Prescribed burns planned Jan. 27-28 at Graham Creek Nature Preserve

FOLEY – The Graham Creek Nature Preserve will conduct prescribed burns on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Wednesday, Jan 28, as part of ongoing land management and conservation efforts. Prescribed fire is a vital tool used to maintain healthy ecosystems, reduce the risk of wildfires, improve wildlife habitat and support native plant species. Miflin Road Improvement Project to Begin Soon

Work is scheduled to begin in the coming days on a roadway improvement project along Miflin Road east of Alabama 59. The project will add turn lanes, curbs and other enhancements designed to improve safety and traffic flow along this busy commercial corridor. Senior Wellness Week event set in Foley Jan. 28

South Baldwin seniors are invited to learn more about services and resources available to them when Senior Wellness Week comes to Foley. Foley Library Book Sale starts Feb. 5

Thousands of best-sellers, classics and other gently used books will be available beginning Wednesday, Feb. 5, when the Friends of the Foley Public Library host their annual Book Sale at the Foley Civic Center. The main sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 7. On Saturday, shoppers can fill a Tanger shopping bag for $5. Foley names airport for former mayor

The City of Foley has recognized former Mayor Arthur Holk for his lasting contributions to aviation and the city’s growth by renaming the city airport Holk Field at Foley Municipal Airport. Foley City Offices closed Monday for MLK Day

Most nonemergency Foley city offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, in commemoration of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The Foley Public Library will also be closed Monday. Safer Warming Center to Open in Foley Saturday Due to Cold Weather

FOLEY – With cold temperatures expected this weekend, a Safer Warming Center will open in Foley to provide shelter for individuals in need. The Safer Warming Center will be located at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 506 N. Pine St., Foley, 36535. Holk Field dedication

FOLEY – Foley will dedicate the city’s airport in honor of the community’s long-time mayor, Arthur Holk, on Friday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m.. The Foley City Council voted in 2025 to name the facility Holk Field at Foley Municipal Airport. The field is named for former Mayor Arthur Holk. Four-way stop in place to improve traffic flow near hospital

A new four-way stop sign is now in place at the intersection of North Alston Street and West Peachtree Avenue. The stop signs were installed early Wednesday morning, Jan. 14. Traffic on both streets is now required to stop at the intersection.
