Foley students heading to Sister City in Germany
FOLEY – About a dozen south Baldwin teens will make their way to Hennef, Germany this spring as part of a student exchange program with Foley’s sister city. Foley officials recently welcomed representatives from Hennef as part of a program to promote exchanges between the two cities. Foley medical museum seeking photos of ‘Holmes Babies’
FOLEY – For hundreds of Foley residents born between 1936 and 1958, life began on the second floor of the brick building that still stands on the southwest corner of Laurel Avenue and McKenzie Street. Now, the Holmes Medical Museum is seeking baby pictures of the children delivered at the site or by the doctors or nurses who worked there. Foley Public Library director taking new position in Wyoming
FOLEY – John Jackson will leave his position as director of the Foley Public Library to take a new job as executive director of the Campbell County Public Library System in Wyoming. Jackson has been director of the Foley Public Library since 2013. Under Jackson’s leadership, the Foley Public Library has been nationally recognized as one of the top libraries in its category. Foley Homecoming Parade rolls through downtown
FOLEY -- Students, parents and other Foley residents lined the streets Thursday, Oct. 12, as the Foley High School homecoming parade rolled through the city. The parade included the school band, JROTC Color Guard and other marchers. Football team players, Homecoming Court members and school organizations rolled in cars and floats as well. The event concluded with a celebration at the gazebo at Heritage Park.
Baldwin Pops to perform Oct. 22 in Heritage Park
FOLEY – The Baldwin Pops orchestra will perform a fall concert at Foley’s Heritage Park Sunday, Oct. 22. The concert will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the park at 125 East Laurel St. in Foley. While the band has performed at the park in the past, this is the group’s first fall concert in Foley. Admission is free.
