The Foley Planning Commission will have two meetings this month, a work session on Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m. and the regular session on Oct. 19 also at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be at city hall in council chambers. Downtown Foley, through Foley Main Street, has been accepted into the Opportunity Alabama Community Growth Accelerator Program. The CGA team came into town for their first site visit September 27. The visit included touring properties in Downtown Foley that are possible projects, reviewing assets and opportunities, challenges and barriers, and possible goals and results. Spooky Season Returns to OWA Parks & Resort!

The Foley City Council will meet at 4 p.m. on Oct. 3 in a joint regular/work session in council chambers. During the meeting the council will discuss: A first reading of an ordinance to pre-zone 35.27 acres on the east side of State Route 59 and south of Hadley Road to planned unit development. Foley Airport seeks grant for improvements
While Foley is wrapping up one project at the airport funded by an FAA grant, the council also gave the go ahead to apply for another one for more work at the facility.
