Foley announces a rate increase for residential sanitation services in the amount of $3.75 per unit, per month, from $16 to $19.75. This increase for the first garbage can for residences will become effective on Aug. 1, 2019 . The rate for second cans at the same residence will remain the same at $16 per month.

Billing for sanitation services for Foley residents is included in the Riviera Utility bill mailed to customers monthly.

Foley officials say this increase is necessary to keep up with the escalating cost of collecting residential waste. The last rate increase for this service was in October 2008.
