The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, May 4.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are: 

  • A public hearing to declare weeds and debris, junk and litter a public nuisance and order its abatement on McGaster Trail.
  • A public hearing to consider rezoning property owned by Jarvis C. and Deborah L. Sester from residential single-family and duplex, R2, to preferred office, PO.
  • A public hearing to consider rezoning property owned by Rivi Apartments LLC from extended business district, B1A, to residential multi-family, R3.
  • A proclamation declaring May 16-22 as Safe Boating Week.
  • Recognizing area Teachers of the Year including Angela Ingraham, Swift; Brandy Richard, Foley High; Kaitlyn Martin, Magnolia; Kerry Becton, Mathis; Michelle Dillon, Foley Middle; and Amanda Welsh – Foley Elementary.
  • A Teacher of the Year presentation by State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones.
  • The second reading of an ordinance rezoning property owned by Jarvis C. and Deborah L. Sester from residential single-family and duplex, R2, to preferred office, PO.
  •  The second reading of an ordinance rezoning property owned by Rivi Apartments LLC from extended business district, B1A, to residential multi-family, R3.
  • Authorizing employees to enter property on McGaster Trail to abate a public nuisance.
  • Amending the pay classification plan within departments under the Leisure Services Umbrella Pay Classification Plan effective April 20, 2026.
  • Approving the professional services proposal from Thompson Engineering for the Intersection Improvements Project at Miflin Road and the Foley Beach Express-Alabama 161.
  • The installation of three decorative street lights by Riviera Utilities on East Berry Avenue.
  • Using a Foley Woman’s Club donation of $19,200 for the development of the new library’s sensory room and naming the facility the Foley Woman’s Club Sensory Nook.
  • Accepting the Fiscal Year 2026 Library Services and Technology Act Strengthening Youth and Family Grant for $20,000 to be used for the new library STEAM Lab.
  • Memorializing the acceptance of $2,000 donation from State Rep. Donna Givens for the Foley Public Library.
  • Purchasing a Ford F-150 pickup truck for vector control.
  • Amending the pay classification plan within departments under the Infrastructure and Development Umbrella Pay Classification Plan effective April 20, 2026.
  • Purchasing a Kubota RTVX2 for the Horticulture Department.
  • Reappointing Donald Wenzel Jr. to the Museum-Archives Board.
  • Installing a four-way stop sign at the intersection of South Cypress Street and East Orange Avenue.
  • Granting a utilities easement to the Utilities Board of the City of Foley – Riviera Utilities.
  • Approving the use of Max Griffin Park on Monday, May 25, for the American Legion Post 99 Memorial Day ceremony.
  • Waiving fees and approving the use of Beulah Heights Park for a May Day event.
  • Authorizing a budget amendment and appropriating funds for professional services to support Advantage Site Design for the North Foley Industrial Park.
