Foley Public Library will host its monthly Coffee & Donuts With an Author on Wed, May 25 @ 10 am in its upstairs meeting room. Local author, Robert W. Gardner, will be speaking on his latest publication, GOD WITH US: The Story of Jesus. He will end his presentation with a brief Q&A session.
Gardner, husband of Melissa Gardner, served as an ordained minister with more than ten years’ experience in the pulpit. Previously, he worked in radio broadcasting for 25 years as a DJ, radio news reporter, and talk show host. Currently, Robert serves as a property manager in Gulf Shores for one of the beach-side condo high-rises and is helping start a new denomination for Bible believers. He can often be seen performing on stage or helping out with the South Baldwin Community Theatre.
The writing of this book, compiling in chronological order a complete retelling of the story of Jesus from the New Testament, in a unique poetic format, took nearly twenty years. The idea was born from Robert’s love of reading aloud to others and from his desire to present the entire tale in a printed format more conducive to sight reading.
