FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting and a special meeting Monday, March 2.
The council will hold a special meeting to formally accept the city’s annual audit findings at 3 p.m. The regular meeting and work session will begin at 4 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.
Among the items on the regular meeting agenda are:
- A public hearing to declare junk and debris to be a nuisance and to order its abatement on East Gate Circle.
- A public hearing to declare weeds to be a nuisance and to order its abatement on Dale Lane, the common area in Parkside subdivision.
- A public hearing to declare weeds to be a nuisance and to order its abatement on South Hickory Street at the entrance to Crown Walk subdivision.
- A public hearing to declare weeds to be a nuisance and to order its abatement on South Oak Street.
- The presentation of a Quality in Construction Award.
- A presentation by Linda Spangrud of Foley Sister Cities.
- The presentation of Arbor Day book donations.
- The first reading of an ordinance relating to the speed limits and traffic controls in Hickory Bend subdivision.
- The second reading of an ordinance declaring certain real property not presently needed for municipal purposes and authorizing its lease to Autoworx LLC doing business as NAPA Auto Parts of Foley.
- The second reading of an ordinance accepting public rights of way and infrastructure improvements in Riverside at Arbor Walk Phase Three subdivision.
- Accepting the dedication of a right of way easement for public use along West Fern Avenue and Highway 59.
- Requesting permission to solicit a consulting firm to develop a municipal campus master plan.
- Going to bid and purchasing a truck for the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Waiving the fees for the use of Heritage Park and John B. Foley Park for the 54th-annual Art in the Park event May 8 through 11, 2026.
- Rescheduling an upcoming City Council meeting due to an expected lack of a quorum.
- Amending the pay classification in the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Approving the installation of a new street light on John Arthur Drive in the Amelia Woods subdivision.
- Authorizing employees to enter property on East Gate Circle to abate a public nuisance.
- Authorizing employees to enter property on Dale Lane at the entrance to Parkside subdivision to abate a public nuisance.
- Authorizing employees to enter property on South Hickory Street at the entrance to Crown Walk subdivision to abate a public nuisance.
- Authorizing a sponsorship contribution to the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Foundation in support of 2026 Paddles for a Purpose Pickleball Tournament.
- Waiving the fees for the use of Heritage Park to host the Prayer Changes Things event on April 11, 2026.
- Reappointing Luanne McCarley to the Board and Adjustments and Appeals.
