FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, Nov. 3.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are: 

  • A public hearing to consider an ordinance amending the city zoning ordinance.
  • A public hearing to consider an ordinance to regulate mining and quarrying operations.
  • A public hearing to consider an ordinance setting the maximum axle limit on Park Avenue between South Hickory Street and South Pine Street.
  • The first reading of an ordinance amending the Foley Zoning Ordinance.
  • The second reading of an ordinance setting the maximum axle limit on Park Avenue between South Hickory Street and South Pine Street.
  • The second reading of an ordinance to regulate mining and quarrying operations.
  • The second reading of an ordinance amending the city zoning ordinance.
  • Purchasing lighting for downtown business owners.
  • Declaring two trucks as surplus in the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Amending the pay classification plan for reorganization of the Revenue Division of General Government.
  • Amending the pay classification plan for reorganization of the Street Department.
  • Purchasing an all terrain vehicle and declaring equipment surplus for the Nature Parks Department.
  • Waiving the fees for the use of Heritage Park for a Christmas caroling event.
  • Authorizing the solicitation of bids for the new library’s furniture and appropriating money for the project.
  • Setting a public hearing to consider zoning ordinance amendments.
  • Approving the Alabama 59 sidewalk from East Orchid Avenue to East Section Avenue and accepting the Capstone Engineering Group’s professional services proposal.
  • Approving funding for the Industrial Park Road Extension and granting permission to go to bid on the project.
  • Applying for a Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant for the 2025 fiscal year.
  • Approving or denying a business license application for the sale of non-consumable hemp products.
  • Applying for the Walmart Spark Local Good Grant.
  • Appropriating additional money for the Pilgrim Road Extension.
