FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, Dec. 15.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are: 

  • A presentation by State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones to present State Legislative Resolutions recognizing former council members Vera Quaites, Rick Blackwell and Richard Dayton.
  • A discussion of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan.
  • Discussing asphalt art and crosswalks as part of the Main Street Alabama Grant.
  • A report of November 2025 approved and paid bills for the record.
  • Minutes of the Dec. 1 meeting and Dec. 4 special called meeting.
  • Department reports from Planning and Zoning, Building, Police and Fire.
  • Amending an ordinance relating to speed limits and traffic controls in the City of Foley.
  • Approving an ABC license for retail beer and table wine– off premises – and tobacco only for the Corner Market on South McKenzie Street.
  • Amending the pay classification in the Sanitation Department.
  • Purchasing furniture for the new Public Works Campus.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring vacant property to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement at 22313 Miflin Road.
  • Amending the Sanitation Department budget for property damages.
  • Approving maintenance of the Server Room UPS.
  • Approving monthly bids for November 2025.
  • Purchasing and installing additional public safety system cameras.
  • Approving the bid for the First Responder Safe Room.
  • Upgrading and modernizing the traffic signals on Miflin Road between Alabama 59 and Alabama 161.
  • Awarding the bid to L&K Construction for the Miflin Road Access Management Plan, Phase 1. Approving Riviera Utilities to install new lighting and approving Sawgrass  Consulting CE&I professional services proposal.
  • Approving Riviera Utilities light installation for the South Chicago Street Streetscape Project and current monthly fees.
  • Approving the Goodwyn Mills Cawood LLC survey proposal for the two-lot subdivision on Fern Avenue.
  • Waiving fees for the use of Heritage Park for the Gift of Giving by IPUL fundraising event.
  • Appointing Derrick Perdue as an alternate member of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.
  • Re-allocating surplus A/V funds to cover additional sitework costs for the new library project.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring weeds to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement at the vacant lot on the northeast corner of Baldwin County 20 and Hickory Street.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring 217 W. Roosevelt Ave. a public nuisance and ordering its abatement.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring 510 E. Myrtle Ave. a public nuisance and ordering its abatement.
