The Foley Public Library will celebrate Black History Month with a full day of special events on Tuesday, Feb. 10, featuring guest speakers, storytelling and historical reflections for all ages.
The events are designed to encourage learning, reflection and celebration as the library honors Black History Month through powerful stories and personal experiences shared throughout the day.
Schedule of events:
10 a.m. | Children’s Area
The day begins with Story Time featuring special guest FOX10 News’ Lenise Ligon, who will read to young patrons and celebrate Black history through storytelling. No registration required.
11 a.m. | Upstairs Meeting Room
Following story time, Lenise Ligon will share her inspiring journey in journalism and her experiences in the media world. Registration is required.
2 p.m. | Upstairs Meeting Room
Africatown will present stories that helped build a community, highlighting its history, resilience and legacy. Registration is required.
5:30 p.m. | Upstairs Meeting Room
The day concludes with Clara Esther, a living witness to history, who will share her powerful memories of the day America lost Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Registration is required.
Registration is required for the 11 a.m, 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. sessions.
