Foley’s Hometown Halloween will morph into a different experience this year, becoming an entertaining Halloween drive-in movie. The movie will be held near the city baseball fields on Hwy. 98 on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020.

“We know the city Halloween event is very popular. Since we cannot safely conduct a festival-type event this year due to COVID-19, we have planned something for families to enjoy from the safety of their cars,” says Lisa Rogers, city events coordinator.

The movie will be the animated 2019 release of The Addams Family. Details will be released soon on how to sign up for a parking space at the drive-in.

One of the most popular parts of Foley’s Halloween event is the costume contest, which normally draws hundreds of contestants. The costume contest will go on – virtually. Contestants will be asked to send in photos, with contact information beforehand. The winners will be announced and photos will be shown on screen prior to the movie. All entries will be posted online to allow everyone to see the amazing creative costumes that delight us year after year. A new category this year will be family/group costumes.

Treat bags will be distributed to each child 12 and under who attends the drive-in movie. Businesses and organizations who normally participate in the event are encouraged to continue their support by contributing candy or items for the treat bags, or even assistance with putting them together. For a list of ways to participate, contact Lisa Rogers at (251)943-1300.
