As tornados and damaging winds moved across the area Wednesday (Dec. 14) evening, Foley was spared the worst effects of the storm.

“We did have some power outages and transformers blown,” said Foley Executive Director of Public Safety David Wilson. “We dodged a bullet compared to the damage and some loss of life in Louisiana and some of the other states,” Wilson added.

City forces were out and about during the storm taking care of business and moving debris, according to city officials. Crews from Riviera Utilities worked across the city during the evening taking care of power outages caused by the storm.

Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency reports that Baldwin County overall had little damage and no injuries during last night’s weather events.
