The City of Foley recently celebrated acclaimed Christian fiction author Colleen Coble during a special event hosted by the Foley Public Library.

Coble, alongside co-author Rick Acker, participated in a series of engaging activities, including a book launch, discussion panels, and a writing workshop.

On Saturday, March 22, the Foley Civic Center welcomed readers and fans for the launch of Coble’s latest novel, “Ambush,” which was officially released on March 4. The book marks the beginning of her new Sanctuary series—a gripping suspense series that features familiar locations, including Foley, U.S. 98, Barnwell, and Baldwin County.

A Key to the City

During the event, Mayor Ralph Hellmich honored Coble’s contributions to literature and the community by presenting her with the key to the city.

A Weekend of Literary Events

Coble and Acker also led several interactive sessions throughout the weekend:

  • Book Club Discussion: A deep dive into “I Think I Was Murdered.”

  • Teen/Tween Writing Workshop: A hands-on session designed to inspire young writers.

  • Special Storytime: A reading of Coble’s children’s book, “The Blessings Jar.”

  • Behind-the-Scenes Author Q&A: An exclusive session where attendees learned more about her writing process and creative journey.
