The public is invited to explore Foley’s municipal airport during the second-annual open house on Saturday, March 21.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holk Field at Foley Municipal Airport, located at 510 Airport Drive near Underwood Road (Baldwin County 24).

The City of Foley and Lightning Aviation, which oversees airport operations, will host the open house. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the terminal and other areas of the airport, meet representatives from aviation-related agencies and organizations, and learn more about airport services and operations.

Food will be available for purchase, with the Foley Masonic Lodge offering $5 meal deals during the event.

The first open house, held in March 2025, drew about 100 attendees who toured the facility and learned more about aviation activities in Foley.

Since that time, the city has renamed the airport Holk Field at Foley Municipal Airport in honor of former Mayor Arthur Holk, who passed away in 2021.

Foley’s airport features a 3,700-foot runway and provides services including flight instruction, aircraft maintenance and aircraft rentals. Future plans for the facility include construction of new hangars and taxiways, as well as drainage improvements.

Holk Field is located about five miles from Tanger Outlet Center and approximately 15 miles from the Gulf beaches, making it a convenient gateway for residents and visitors alike.
