As Foley joins communities across the nation in celebrating America’s 250th birthday, city offices and some facilities will observe the Independence Day holiday with temporary closures and schedule changes.
Non-emergency city offices will be closed Friday, July 3, and will reopen during regular business hours Monday, July 6. Emergency services, including police and fire, will continue operating without interruption throughout the holiday.
Garbage and recycling collections normally scheduled for Thursday and Friday will both be collected on Thursday, July 2. Collection of limbs and yard debris will resume after the holiday. Residents are asked to be patient if collection routes are delayed as crews work to catch up following the holiday.
The Foley Public Library will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.
The Holmes Medical Museum and Foley Railroad Museum will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. The model railroad exhibit and event train will also be closed Saturday, July 4.
The Nature Center at Graham Creek Nature Preserve will be closed Friday, July 3, and will reopen Monday, July 6. The preserve itself will remain open daily during daylight hours.
The Foley Senior Center will be closed Friday, July 3.
Foley’s municipal swimming pools will be closed Saturday, July 4. All other city park facilities will remain open during their regular operating hours.
