The Foley Planning Commission will meet in a work session on Jan. 11 and a regular session Jan. 18 with both meetings at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.

 

During the meetings, the panel will discuss:

A requested change in a planned unit development (PUD) for a side setback variance for a lot in Lakeview Gardens to drop the required distance by three and a half feet. Regulations call for a 30-foot setback and the applicant is requesting a 26.5-foot setback. City staffers in engineering, environmental, fire and building departments were not opposed to the variance. The subdivision is located south of Miflin Road and east of Fairway Drive near Glenlakes Golf Course.

A site plan approval request for a CEFCO gas station at the southeast corner of the intersection of North McKenzie Street (State Route 59) and East Fern Avenue. According to the agenda, questions were raised about Alabama Department of Transportation’s approval for access from State Route 59 to the gas station and about easement from Riviera Utilities on the old railroad right of way east of the proposed station.

A request for a minor subdivision approval for 20 acres located on Swift Church Road to divide it into five lots. The parcel is not in the corporate city limits but is inside the Foley planning jurisdiction. Owners of the property are Larry and Juanita Peavy.

A request to resubdivide a lot in the Uno Subdivision at the southwest corner of U.S. 98 and South Hickory Street. The 1.9-acre parcel would be split into two lots. A company called Wash-N-Go is making the request.

A request for a resubdivision of a 16.87-acre lot at the southeast corner of North McKenzie Street (State Route 59) and East Fern Avenue in the Fern Avenue Commercial Park. The applicant wants to divide the parcel into three lots.

A request for preliminary approval for Glenlakes Unit 1 Phase 4 to subdivide 49.94 acres into 116 residential lots. The property is located west of Clarke Ridge Road and east of Carnoustie Drive which is located east of Glenlakes Golf Course and south of Miflin Road. The applicant is Lemar Homes of Alabama.
