FOLEY – Changes in city park rules are among the items on the agenda for the Foley City Council’s next meeting Monday, Dec. 16.

The council’s regular work session and meeting will begin at 4 p.m. at Foley City Hall.

The park ordinance would amend regulations for 14 city recreation facilities throughout Foley.

 The ordinance sets park hours at 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Specific guidelines would include rules for the use of tennis courts, swimming pools, Kids Park and the dog park.

Other items on the council agenda include:

  • Approving the payment of bills.
  • Hearing department reports on taxes and permits, Community Development and the Police and Fire departments.
  • Approving an intergovernmental service agreement for the use of county voting machines in the 2025 municipal elections.
  • Renewing an agreement with the Alabama Department of Corrections for the use of inmate labor.
  • Applying for and accepting the Walmart Spark Local Good Grant.
  • Waiving fees for the use of Max Griffin Park for the Women’s Care Medical Center to host the Walk for Life Walk-A-Thon.
  • Approving monthly bids for November.
  • Purchasing a vehicle for the Environmental Department.
  • Amending the pay classification plan in the Infrastructure and Development Department.
  • Approving a retirement award.
  • Waiving the fees for the use of the Foley Civic Center for the Baldwin County Youth Orchestra Performance.
  • Accepting Kimley Horn’s professional services proposal.
  • Waiving the fees for the use of Heritage Park and pavilion for the Kiwanis Club of Foley’s inaugural Chili Cook-Off fundraising event.
  • Purchasing a Polaris Ranger for the Street Department-Traffic Control.
  • Authorizing the mayor to execute a lease agreement with Rep. Barry Moore of the U.S. House of Representatives.
  • Accepting a donation of $1,500 to the Foley Train Museum from the M.A. Rikard Charitable Trust.
  • Approving a professional land surveying proposal from Beyond Measure Surveying for the Airport Drive Subdivision.
