Update: Since 6 am this morning the 2,000 sandbags provided have already been used. Public Works has been able to get 900 more, but when these are gone, we are unable to get more bags. Sand is available if you can bring your own bags. You must bring your own shovel, and there is a limit of 10 bags per person.
Original: The city is providing free sand and bags that are available to residents who want to make their own sandbags to prepare for the possibility of the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Delta. The materials will be available at the city Public Works Department at 120 E. Orchid beginning Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6 a.m. until 4 p.m.
