Foley’s new mayor and city council members were sworn in on Monday, Nov. 2. Ralph Hellmich, who has served on the city council representing District 3 since 2004, was sworn in as mayor.

Wayne Trawick, who has represented District 1 since 1998, was re-elected to another term. Trawick was also elected to serve as Council President at the organizational meeting. This is the third time he has been elected by fellow council members to hold this position. He has served as Council President since 2012.

Vera Quaites was re-elected to a third term as council member for District 2. She has held this council seat since 2008.

Richard “Dick” Dayton was elected to represent District 3 and is the first new addition to the council in 12 years.

Rick Blackwell was sworn in to begin his third term serving as council member for District 4. He was first elected in 2008.

In District 5, Council member Charlie Ebert, III, began his fourth term on council. He was first appointed to the council in 2006. Ebert was elected by his fellow council members as President Pro Tem.

Council meetings, held twice a month for the remainder of the year, will be held in the Civic Center in order to provide the public with more room for social distancing. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask.
