Lucky to Love Foley downtown event starts Feb. 19

FOLEY – Supporters of Downtown Foley will have a chance to find their own pot of gold in the weeks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. Foley Main Street is conducting the sixth-annual “Lucky to Love Foley,” celebration between Feb. 19 and March 17. Clinic move paving way for new Foley library

FOLEY – An old house on East Rose Avenue is being torn down as part of plans to build Foley’s new library and community center. The Foley City Council approved the demolition of the house located near the Foley Senior Center north of City Hall. Foley adding sidewalks on Alabama 59, Cedar Street

FOLEY – New sidewalks along Cedar Street and Alabama 59 will improve pedestrian access in downtown and in residential areas that do not now have walkways. The Foley City Council voted Monday, Feb. 5 to start design work on projects to add sidewalks from on South McKenzie Street, Alabama 59, from East Verbena Avenue to Centennial Bank and also along North Cedar Street to West Peachtree Avenue. Foley to extend East Jessamine Avenue to Heritage Park

FOLEY – An upcoming Foley road project will provide more east-west connectivity and link Heritage Park with the City Hall complex and streets to the east. The Foley City Council voted Monday, Feb. 5, to approve the project and accept the services of Engineering Design Group to lay out the construction work and survey the extension. Foley holds strategic plan meetings

FOLEY – Residents are pleased with the quality of life, public safety and many other aspects of living in Foley, but some are concerned about the rapid rate of growth and the impact on traffic and infrastructure. Foley held three public meetings Wednesday and Thursday to meet with residents in preparation for the creation of a strategic plan for the city. Police charge two with counterfeiting

On Thursday, February 8th, 2024, officers and detectives from the Foley Police Department were alerted to two men who were involved in the passing of counterfeit currency at stores inside the Tanger Mall.   The ensuing investigation revealed that Michael Anthony Washington (41) and Derick Melendez Ned (47), both from Tampa, Florida, had engaged in a counterfeit currency scheme at several stores. South Pecan extension opens

FOLEY – South Pecan Street now provides additional north-south connectivity in Foley following the opening of the city’s latest road project Friday.  The South Pecan Street extension will provide access from U.S. 98 south to Pride Boulevard, a distance of about 1.7 miles. Foley police investigating shooting incident

FOLEY – On Sunday February 4th, at approximately 7:12 P.M., we received several calls reporting the sound of gunshots near Juniper St. and Azalea Ave.  Shortly after the calls, a family arrived at the police department with damage to their vehicle.  The family reported hearing shots and the back glass of their vehicle shattering in the area north of Azalea Ave. on Juniper St. The broken glass was located in the 600 block of South Juniper St.  At this time we are still actively investigating the shooting.  Our victims in the case are [...]
