FOLEY – Growth is expected to continue in the upcoming year according to the budget to be considered by the Foley City Council. The City Council will meet Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m. at Foley City Hall. The meeting was rescheduled from Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Foley offices closed Monday for Labor Day

FOLEY – All Foley city offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, for the Labor Day holiday. The City Council meeting and work session usually held on the first Monday of the month will be Tuesday, Sept. 5. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Council chamber in Foley City Hall on East Laurel Avenue. The Monday recyclable materials collection will be Tuesday, Sept. 5. All other sanitation services will remain on the same schedule. All offices and services will resume at the usual hours Tuesday, Sept. 5.

OWA Tropic Hideaway RV Resort opens in Foley

FOLEY – A new recreational vehicle park in Foley will not only provide more spaces for a rapidly growing section of the accommodations industry, but is also part of a plan to provide more access to local attractions. Foley preparing new site for World War II era cannons

FOLEY – A pair of World War II era anti-tank guns that stood for decades in front of the Foley National Guard armory will soon have a new permanent home as part of the community’s memorial to veterans. New street lighting projects coming to Foley

FOLEY – City officials plan lighting improvements with an estimated cost of almost $500,000 in several areas of Foley where new projects are being constructed. The city will add 145 new lights on East Pride Boulevard, Kenny Stabler Avenue and the site where the new Public Works campus is planned. Foley making plans for armory building

FOLEY – Foley officials are drawing up plans to convert the former National Guard armory into recreation space and municipal offices. The Foley City Council approved a budget increase to create plans to convert the building behind City Hall into offices and other uses. The city will pay the firm of PCDA Architecture of Mobile $4,750 to draw up the plans. Foley plans more drainage improvements on Bon Secour River

FOLEY – Removing a massive beaver dam that includes its own hot tub is among the additional drainage improvements planned in south Foley as officials work to reduce flooding in the area. In July, the city began a project to remove debris and sediment on the Bon Secour River. The material was left after Hurricane Sally struck the area in 2020. Memorial planned on Foley Rose Trail

FOLEY – A memorial to those who have served protecting America will be going up on the new section of the Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail in Foley. The Daughters of the American Revolution will provide a memorial plaque and three white rose bushes to be placed along the trail, Brenda Shambo, Foley administrative assistant, said.
