Foley making additions at Kids Park site

FOLEY – A new pavilion and restrooms are part of plans for improvements at Foley’s Max Griffin Park near the new Sara Thompson Kids Park. The city is going out for bids to rebuild the pavilion located next to the Kids Park site. The Kids Park reopened earlier this year after being rebuilt at a cost of $1.2 million. Foley seeks public input on strategic plan

FOLEY – Residents will have a chance to take part in guiding Foley’s future growth by helping to develop the city’s strategic plan. The city of Foley is working with the national consulting firm of BerryDunn to create a plan to prepare for the community’s development in upcoming years. Foley completes armory transfer, moves cannons

FOLEY – Just before Veterans Day, two projects to transfer military property to the city of Foley are complete after more than a year of effort. The Foley City Council voted Monday, Nov. 6, to approve a transfer agreement with the Alabama Armory Commission. Zoning proposed for annexed Mills community

FOLEY – Residents and Foley officials are working to develop land-use plans for the newest area of the city. Members of the Mills community met with city representatives Tuesday to discuss proposed zoning designations for the district. Residents voted in August to have their community in west Foley become part of the city. Foley employees earn Class A CDLs

FOLEY – More Foley employees continue to receive training that allows them to expand their abilities to operate municipal vehicles under a partnership between the city and other agencies. The city of Foley partnered with the Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Development and the Alabama Career Center, known as Alabama Works, to provide Class A Commercial Driver’s License training and certification for employees in the Public Works department. Foley developing traffic safety plan

FOLEY – City officials are talking to residents and experts in an effort to make Foley streets safer. Foley is developing a Safety Action Plan to improve travel around the community. Foley Councilman Dayton named advanced certified municipal official

ORANGE BEACH: Foley City Councilman Richard Dayton has been received the designated of advanced certified municipal official by the Alabama League of Municipalities.   Dayton received the high honor after completing 40 credit hours of  training conducted or endorsed by the league to achieve the CMO designation and then an additional 40 hours for the advanced certification. Dayton is a member of the 25th graduating class of advanced certified municipal officials. Foley Safety Action meeting on Monday council agenda

FOLEY – The city of Foley will hold a safety action plan meeting Monday to hear from residents about safety on local roadways. The meeting is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center. The Foley City Council is also scheduled to discuss the project at their meeting. Foley Sister Cities program moves forward

FOLEY – Foley residents and officials are moving forward with efforts to develop the community’s Sister Cities program with the municipality of Hennef, Germany. Foley Sister Cities has raised money to send a delegation of South Baldwin high school students to Hennef in May. The Foley City Council voted at its most recent meeting to provide some funding to support the effort to send students. Mills zoning meeting set Tuesday, Nov. 7

FOLEY – Area residents and city officials will discuss zoning for the recently annexed community of Mills in a public meeting Tuesday, Nov. 7. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center. Mills residents voted Aug. 22 to have their community annexed into the city of Foley.
