FOLEY – The Graham Creek Nature Preserve will conduct prescribed burns on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Wednesday, Jan 28, as part of ongoing land management and conservation efforts.
Prescribed fire is a vital tool used to maintain healthy ecosystems, reduce the risk of wildfires, improve wildlife habitat and support native plant species. The burn will be conducted by trained professionals under carefully monitored weather and safety conditions.
During the burn, visitors may notice smoke in and around the preserve and surrounding areas. Certain trails or sections of the preserve may be temporarily closed for public safety.
The preserve is located at 23050 Wolf Bay Drive in Foley.
The public is asked to avoid the burn area and follow all posted signage and staff instructions. Preserve officials appreciate the community’s understanding as they work to responsibly manage and protect the natural resources of Graham Creek Nature Preserve.
