FOLEY – Riviera Utilities has once again earned national recognition for excellence in operating its natural gas utility.

The American Public Gas Association (APGA) recently presented Riviera Utilities with its System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) award. Out of about 750 APGA member utilities nationwide, Riviera was selected by peers on the APGA Operations and Safety Committee.

The recognition is based on outstanding performance in four areas:

  • System integrity

  • System improvement

  • Employee safety

  • Workforce development

The SOAR award honors natural gas utilities that meet the highest standards of safety and reliability while demonstrating a commitment to ongoing improvement and service to their communities.

The 2025 SOAR awards were announced at the APGA Annual Conference in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A utility may hold SOAR status for three years before reapplying for continued recognition. Riviera previously earned the designation in 2022.
