The intersection of South Chicago Street and East Orange Avenue will be closed Friday, May 22, due to construction at the new Foley Public Library site.
The intersection is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The library is currently under construction and scheduled to open later this year.
The city is conducting road improvements near the site in preparation for the opening of the facility. Improvements include brick pavers, walkways, decorative lighting, green spaces and additional street trees on South Chicago Street and a four-way stop sign at South Cypress Street and East Orange Avenue.
The new library will have about 40,000 square feet of space and will be about twice the size of the current facility when it opens.
