Ruth Elder will present an overview of Dr. Wade Hall’s collection of over 25,000 vintage postcards, the creation of the postcard exhibits, and stories of the Alabama represented by these historic cards at the Foley Public Library on Thursday, March 8, at 2 pm. The exhibition consists of two parts: the traveling exhibits and the digital exhibit. The Main Streets exhibit includes streets in large cities and small towns throughout the state. You can see the digital exhibit (https://trojan.troy.edu/library/wadehall/) for more information about the Wade Hall postcard collection and the traveling exhibits, including the itineraries. Mrs. Ruth Elder, our presenter, is a Troy University Cataloging Librarian and is the main researcher, writer, and organizer for the Wade Hall Postcard Traveling Exhibits. She has two masters degrees and over 35 years of library experience. She moved to Alabama in 2009 and has thoroughly enjoyed learning the history of her adopted state. Please join us at the Foley Public Library in the upstairs meeting room for this very informative presentation.  The traveling exhibit will be at the Foley Public Library through March 30, 2018.  Call 251-943-7665 for more information or check our website at www.foleylibrary.org.
