Foley Public Library will be hosting its 4th Annual Forward City Con (a comic/anime/gaming convention) on Sat, April 4, 10 am – 5 pm, at the Foley Civic Center. The day will include a Cosplay competition, panel discussions, showing of anime, door prizes, video gaming area – manned by Action Game & Movie, tabletop gaming area – unmanned, a special play by Commedia del Arte, photo opportunities, and more. Several local vendors and many artists will also be on hand.
Anime viewing will be going on next door to the Civic Center at the Foley Public Library in the upstairs meeting room. Panel discussions will be held at the City of Foley Council Chambers next to the Civic Center. Door prize awards as well as participant games will be conducted from the stage at the Civic Center.
The Cosplay competition will be held at the Civic Center and is open to 60 contestants. This competition offers two categories – “self-made” and “purchased.” Online entry for the Cosplay competition prior to April 4 is encouraged via foleybookface@gmail.com. Pre-registration for the Cosplay Contest can also be done at the convention from 10 am – 12 noon. Cosplay Contest rules can be picked up at the library or requested via email prior to April 4.
