The Foley City Council recently finalized approval on the donation of the city’s previous engineering department building to the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. The South Baldwin Chamber is a non-profit organization and “an advocate for businesses in the region.” It is currently located on Underwood Road in Foley. The new South Baldwin Chamber location will be 200 N. Alston St.
“We’re really excited to get back downtown and be here and stay here for a very, very long time,” said CEO/President of the South Baldwin Chamber Donna Watts.
The ordinance states that the deeded property can only be used for the primary location of the South Baldwin Chamber for a period of five years from the day of conveyance. During that time frame, the South Baldwin Chamber cannot sell, lease, or convey any interest in the property or it will revert back to the City of Foley. Read more at GulfCoastNewsToday.com
