FOLEY – East Violet Avenue on the north side of Heritage Park will be closed Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9 for road improvements.
Crews closed East Violet Avenue between North McKenzie Street (Alabama 59) and North Chicago Street on Monday morning. The road is scheduled to remain closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 9.
Workers are replacing old drainage culverts across the road before the avenue is repaved as part of the city’s annual paving plan.
East Rose Avenue, one block to the north, is also scheduled to be temporarily closed in the near future for culvert replacement on that street.
Resurfacing will be done on the roads in upcoming weeks.
