The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, May 18.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are: 

  • Department reports for April, including Planning and Zoning, Police, Building, tax and permits, Human Resources and Fire.
  • A report on approved and paid bills in April.
  • The first reading of an ordinance pertaining to the licensing of consumable hemp products in the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of Foley.
  • Approving a June 1, 2026 retirement award.
  • Allowing the Foley High School wrestling team to use Heritage Park for a dual meet.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring weeds and the accumulation of junk, trash and litter to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement on East Myrtle Avenue.
  • Approving additional funds for the Alabama 59 sidewalk project between East Orchid Avenue to East Section Street.
  • Amending the pay classification in Planning and Development Services.
  • Appropriating funds to upgrade the airport fuel tank.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring weeds and the accumulation of junk, trash and litter to be a public nuisance and deeming a burned dwelling unsafe and ordering its abatement on East Linton Lane.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring weeds and the accumulation of junk, trash and litter to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement on East Azalea Avenue.
  • Amending the Foley city budget for America 250 events.
  • Setting a public hearing declaring weeds to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement on South Hickory Street.
  • Installing a four-way stop sign at the intersection of North Poplar Street and East Section Avenue.
  • Submitting aid-to-construction fees to the Utilities Board of the city of Foley – Riviera Utilities.
  • Transferring funds from the Environmental Operating Account to Environmental Personnel.
  • Accepting the Fiscal Year 2026 Dollar General Summer Reading Program Grant for $3,000.
  • Approving monthly bids for April 2026.
  • Requesting permission to solicit architectural and engineering firms to develop a Foley Fire Station No. 4 facility.
  • Going to bid and purchasing an electric four-wheel drive truck and related emergency equipment for the Police Department.
