The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, June 1.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.
Among the items on the agenda are:
- The appointment and swearing in of the Foley planning director.
- The oath of office for the Foley planning director.
- Presentation of SEEDS funding for the Foley Industrial Park project.
- Introduction of the 2026 city interns.
- A salute to America and her veterans by Joseph Dean.
- The first reading of an ordinance to rezone property owned by Harold Motter from residential single family, R-1A, to local business, B-3.
- The first reading of an ordinance rezoning property owned by Vulcan Inc. from light industrial, M-1, to local business, B-3.
- The first reading of an ordinance amending the Foley Zoning Ordinance.
- Authorizing a retiree bonus.
- Approving the sponsorship for the Foley Sister Cities Oktoberfest Golf Tournament.
- Allocating funds in the Nature Parks Department.
- Allocating funds for the design of the south entrance restroom and pavilion at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve.
- Applying for the ADECA Recreational Trails Program Grant.
- Approving construction engineering and inspection professional services for the Fern Avenue/Alabama 59 and Iberville Square turn lane improvement projects.
- Approving the Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood LLC professional services proposal addendum for the Schreiber Trail Project and allocating the funds.
- Accepting the Fiscal Year 2025 BJA Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant award.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance to amend chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances of the city of Foley to add provisions pertaining to the licensing of the sale of consumable hemp products in the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of the city of Foley.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance rezoning property owned by Harold Motter from residential single family, R-1A, to local business, B-3.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance rezoning property owned by Vulcan Inc. from light industrial, M-1, to local business, B-3.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance amending the Foley Zoning Ordinance.
- Amending the pay classification plan in the Planning and Zoning Department.
- Approving funding for the Downtown Foley Arts and Entertainment District thermal street markers.
- Setting a public hearing declaring the accumulation of junk, trash and litter to be a public nuisance and order its abatement on East Gate Circle.
