FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, Aug. 18.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.
Among the items on the agenda are:
- A presentation by the South Baldwin Workforce Initiative.
- Monthly department reports on taxes, permit-plan reviews, community development and police and fire activity.
- An ordinance accepting public rights of way and infrastructure improvements in Glenlakes for city maintenance.
- An ordinance to levy a local excise tax and require business licenses for the sale of consumable vapor products in the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of the city of Foley.
- An ordinance authorizing the assistant city clerk to perform the duties of city clerk, including serving as elections manager and absentee elections manager during the city clerk’s absence or inability to serve.
- An ordinance to approve the annexation of territory within the city limits of the city of Foley.
- An ordinance to approve the annexation of territory within or abutting the city limits of the city of Foley.
- Rescinding a resolution accepting the transfer of unopened/unnamed rights of way from Baldwin County due to the matter requiring an ordinance.
- Rescinding a resolution accepting the transfer of a portion of Baldwin County 65 from Baldwin County due to the matter requiring an ordinance.
- Approving additional funding for GeoCon’s construction engineering and inspection services for the new public works campus.
- Approving the Beulah Heights drainage project and allocating the funds.
- Setting a public hearing declaring weeds and junk on South Cedar Street a nuisance to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement.
- Approving the sponsorship of the Kiwanis Club’s Annual Radio Day.
- Authorizing an unnamed capital project in the Street Department and increasing department funds.
- Approving the development agreement between Kolter Development and the city of Foley for Cresswind Sandy Creek.
- Amending the city Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
- Amending the pay classification plan in infrastructure and development and engineering.
- Approving monthly bids for July 2025.
- Accepting and using unbudgeted donation money received by the Foley Fire Department.
